Jetting Services

Hydro Jetting —Wall to Wall.

High-pressure water jetting for residential kitchen lines, soap scum, commercial drain lines, and severe blockages that cable equipment alone can’t fully resolve. Cleans the entire pipe interior — not just a path through the centre.

Two dedicated units — a low-volume residential jetter for small lines and a high-pressure commercial unit for main lines. The right machine for every application.

How Hydro Jetting Works

Pressure that cleans the whole pipe

High-Pressure Water

A specialized nozzle delivers high-pressure water simultaneously forward and backward through the line. The forward jet breaks up blockages. The rear jets propel the hose and scour the pipe walls clean.

Wall-to-Wall Cleaning

Unlike cable equipment that cuts a path through a blockage, jetting cleans the entire pipe interior. Grease, scale, and debris are flushed completely from the pipe wall — not just pushed through.

Nozzle-Matched to the Line

Different blockage types and pipe sizes require different nozzle configurations. We match the jetting nozzle to the specific application — grease nozzles for grease, root-cutting nozzles where roots are present.

Camera Verification

Where applicable, camera inspection confirms the condition of the line before jetting begins and verifies the result after. You see the before and after — not just our word for it.

Cable clears a path.
Jetting cleans the pipe.

A cable machine cuts through a blockage and restores flow. That’s the right tool for most residential drain and main line work. But grease buildup on commercial lines, severely coated pipe walls, or situations where flow needs to be fully restored rather than just reopened — those are jetting applications.

The difference is in what gets left behind. After cable work, the pipe walls may still carry a layer of grease or scale. After jetting, they don’t.

Our Equipment

Built for the work, not the sales sheet

Hydro jetting requires matched equipment — the right PSI, the right GPM, and the right hose for the line being cleaned. Underpowered units don’t clean. Overpowered units damage pipe.

Residential Small-Line Jetting

For kitchen drain lines, soap scum buildup, and residential small-line applications, Imperial operates a 1,700 PSI, 1.2 GPM mini jetter. The lower flow rate is intentional — it delivers enough pressure to clean thoroughly without the volume that could damage older or smaller-diameter residential pipe. Kitchen grease, soap scum, and organic buildup are flushed completely from the pipe wall without risk to the line.

Available Year-Round — Including Winter

Most companies in Winnipeg do not offer residential main sewer line jetting through the winter months. Operating water-based high-pressure equipment in Winnipeg’s extreme cold requires preparation, heated storage, and operational discipline that most operators avoid. Imperial keeps both jetting units ready and in service year-round — including the coldest winter nights. If your line needs jetting in February, we can do it.

Commercial Main Line Jetting

For main sewer lines and commercial applications, Imperial operates a 24HP V-Twin engine jetting unit producing 5,200 PSI at 6.6 US GPM. This is purpose-built commercial equipment — the pressure and volume combination required to clean a main sewer line completely, not just restore flow. Matched hose diameter and length ensure pressure is maintained at the nozzle across the full run of the line.

Our Jetting Process

Three nozzles. A specific sequence. Every time.

The nozzle used determines what actually happens inside the pipe. We follow a deliberate sequence on every jetting job — matched to what the line needs, always finished the same way.

I

Penetrating Nozzle

The first nozzle used on every job. A forward-facing penetrating jet breaks through the blockage and opens the line. This is the entry point — it creates the path that the rest of the process follows through.

II

Root-Cutting Nozzle

Used where root intrusion is present. The root-cutting nozzle follows the penetrating pass and addresses root mass that water pressure alone won’t remove. Applied based on what the camera confirms is in the line — not used on every job.

III

High-Volume Flushing Nozzle

The final nozzle on every jetting job without exception. A high-volume rotating flushing nozzle scours the pipe wall and flushes all loosened debris completely out of the line. This is what separates a thorough jet from a partial one — the line isn’t finished until this pass is done.

When to Jet

Applications that call for hydro jetting

01

Residential Kitchen Lines

Grease and soap scum buildup in residential kitchen drain lines responds better to jetting than cable alone. Our low-volume, high-pressure residential jetter delivers a thorough clean without the flow rate that could damage older interior pipe.

02

Commercial Grease Lines

Restaurants, commercial kitchens, and food service facilities accumulate grease in drain lines faster than any other application. Cable equipment manages grease — jetting removes it. Scheduled jetting prevents emergency backups during service hours.

03

Severely Coated Lines

When years of grease, scale, and mineral deposits have reduced a pipe’s interior diameter significantly, jetting is the most effective way to restore full flow capacity. The high-pressure water scours the pipe wall completely.

04

Post-Restoration Flush

After mechanical restoration on a heavily built-up line, a jetting flush clears any remaining debris and leaves the pipe interior in its cleanest possible condition before the final camera verification.

05

Preventive Maintenance Programs

Commercial properties with high drain usage benefit from scheduled jetting as part of a preventive maintenance program. Consistent jetting intervals prevent buildup from reaching the point of blockage.

06

Storm & Catch Basin Lines

Storm drain and catch basin lines accumulate sediment, debris, and organic material that cable equipment cannot effectively remove. High-pressure jetting clears these lines efficiently and completely.

Choosing the Right Method

Cable vs. hydro jetting

Both methods have their place. The right call depends on what’s in the line, what the line is made of, and what result is needed. We’ll tell you which one applies before any work is recommended.

Standard Method
Cable Cleaning
  • Restores flow through blockages efficiently
  • Right tool for most residential drain and main line work
  • Safe for older, fragile, or compromised pipe
  • Camera-compatible with Imperial’s ¾" inner-core cables
  • Does not clean pipe walls completely
  • Less effective on heavy grease coating

Used in Imperial Clear, Imperial Standard, and Imperial Restoration service tiers.

High-Pressure Method
Hydro Jetting
  • Cleans entire pipe wall, not just a path through
  • Most effective method for grease and scale removal
  • Required preparation for pipe lining
  • Ideal for commercial and high-use lines
  • Not recommended for severely deteriorated pipe
  • Requires camera assessment before use on unknown lines

Recommended for commercial applications, grease lines, pre-lining preparation, and post-restoration flush.

What to Expect

From assessment to clean line

I

Assessment First

We assess the line and confirm jetting is the right method before any equipment is set up. Camera inspection is recommended where line condition is unknown.

II

Flat-Rate Quote

You receive a flat-rate quote before work begins. Written approval required. The rate does not change based on how long the job takes.

III

Jetting

High-pressure water clears the line wall to wall. Nozzle type is matched to the application. Camera verification confirms the result where applicable.

IV

Documentation

Service is documented and invoiced at exactly the approved rate — not a cent more. Camera report included where inspection was performed.
